Summer Yoga & Walking Breaks in Andalucía

Are you looking for a combined activity and relaxing break in the sun? If you like walking and enjoy yoga, then our Yoga & Walking Break in Andalucía may be just what you need! Whether you already practice yoga or would love to try it, you will certainly get the benefit of the daily yoga sessions and enjoy stunning walks in a relaxed and friendly group, in a beautiful part of Andalucía, Spain.

Andalucía is too hot in the summer for walking during the day, but if you don't mind getting up early and setting off at 9 am, then you can enjoy lovely walks in pleasant temperatures until 12.

After walking, enjoy delicious lunches at the Hotel and relax and enjoy the hotel pool before the daily yoga classes given by Kate McHardy, Iyengar yoga teacher since 1990, in the fantastic Hotel yoga studio.

You will then feel relaxed and energized but also stretched and aware of muscles you didn't know existed before. Ideal after walking!

Iyengar yoga classes:

  • Yoga is a Sanskrit word meaning “unite” as in unity of mind body and soul. Yoga is about developing strength and flexibility in these three areas and learning how they work together to create harmony within us and emanating from us.

  • The classes will begin with some meditation and relaxation... preparing the body for its physical workout. Deep relaxation helps the mind to unwind and to tune in on a deeper level to what it needs to function at its best. This then allows the body to get to work on the postures without mental interruption... without the little negative voice calling over your shoulder reminding you of all the things you should really be doing! The relaxation simply removes this and so you gain so much more from the middle section of your practice – the asanas (postures). The last section is recuperative.. also known as restorative or corpse pose. This is the time for you to lie completely still and for your body to recuperate from the active work and to restore itself to its natural health and exuberance.

  • After your yoga practice, by encompassing these three phases, you will feel better than you would ever imagine; you will have more energy than you thought possible and you will be alive and in tune with yourself on all levels – your body will feel stretched but never sore.
