  • Wonderful holiday. I was well looked after, and made to feel special, as I was on my own. Sandrine has a good knowledge of the area and we enjoyed some lovely walks together. I would recommend Butterfly Holidays to anyone on their own, Ian and Sandrine are 100% reliable and caring, putting the needs of their guests first.

  • Ian and Sandrine gave me the most perfect holiday in this beautiful unspoilt part of Spain. Being my first holiday abroad on my own I had some reservations; but on meeting Ian and Sandrine when they picked me up at Malaga airport they were soon banished. Their friendly and kind approach soon put me at ease. They had a wealth of suggestions on what would be a good way to spend my week but always left the decisions on what we did, how much we did and how far we walked up to me. We did the most beautiful walks, stopping for nice traditional relaxing lunches and followed on by dinner which again was in traditional Spanish venues with both good food and company.
My week was what I wanted nothing was too much trouble and therefore this was one of the nicest breaks I have had and simply the most relaxing way to spend a week. The walks were beautiful and they have a very good knowledge of both plants and wildlife which again made it more interesting for me.
I have kept in touch with Ian and Sandrine and look forward to the next holiday I spend with them. Many thanks for the wonderful memories and for being so good at what you do.

  • Hello Sandrine and Ian, Have arrived back to grey wet weather but happy to see my family again. Thanks so much for the great walking. The mountain air and exercise has put me in good spirits! My experience with you was holistically caring, very important for walking women of my age! Good to have met you. All good wishes.

  • ... a big THANKYOU to you both for catering to all our needs while we were staying at Juzcar.
The walk that we had with you in the Sierra de las nieves was unforgettable Sandrine. We all thoroughly enjoyed your company and your care, not to mention all the wonderful views and the sheer joy of being in the mountains.
Ian, thank you for getting up at dreadful hours in the morning to give us lifts all over the place. We couldn't have managed without you - Juzcar not being exactly a hub of public transport!
Thank you both for welcoming all three of us into your home so warmly, and for taking us out to lunch. We won't forget you!

  • ... a quick message to thank you for all your help and kindness while we were at Juzcar - as you know, we couldn't have done it without you! I expect your ears have been burning, as we have been singing your praises to all and sundry - who knows, you may be having some contacts from friends of ours next year. With thanks - it was great to meet you....

  • ... I will look you up then and hope to go on another wonderful walk! I still think about the walk we did, Sandrine, with my friend Helen and the ladybirds on the pinsapos! Cheers!

  • ... Thanks so much for making our stay so special. We really enjoyed it. We'll be in touch. Take care.

  • ... I must thank you again for the wonderful program you arranged for us. It pleased us all and far exceeded my expectations. I was so pleased I contacted you.

Our group enjoyed every aspect of our time with you.  There were the fun walks, wonderful stay and food at the Hotel Bandolero, and such good company all around.  We were so pleased too with your expertise with wild flowers.  You identified some 40 species for us, and so many were beautiful.

Sandrine, we all thought you a special person -- so well organized, always cheery and helpful, and such a fun companion. Your use of the words:  “lovely,” “indeed,” and “Bless you,” still reverberate delightfully in my memory. All of us would so enjoy seeing you again. Ian was fascinating too, with his braids, tattoos, comments, and eagerness to help.

Thank you so much for a wonderful holiday.

  • ... thank you for such a wonderful trip you made for us. We so enjoyed both you and Ian and I wish we lived closer to you but at least we can keep in touch by email. Tell Ian that Blossom misses him!...

  • ... because it was *so* much fun and so very therapeutic it's really stayed with us even as the nights draw in & it begins to feel quite Autumnal here... It was a huge pleasure meeting you all and we had a really happy & memorable time. Hope this finds you all thriving! Warmest wishes.

  • ... It has been some time since we left the lovely Ronda area but we would like to thank you for a very relaxing (well most of the time!) holiday.

You were both professional and personable and we still have a few laughs about the surreal night at the ceiligh which was totally unexpected, out of context but very enjoyable..

    Thank you.

  • ... Missing you already!! We got back safe & sound to our awful British weather and I am already looking forward to my next trip!! ... it has been a real treat to have met you & been part of 'Butterfly Holidays'.

  • ... This was a wonderful holiday. The walks were in beautiful countryside, and Sandrine had organised them with careful consideration. She was a delightful and knowledgeable guide, kind and enthusiastic, while Ian provided welcome support at the end of the walks. We loved our stay at the hotel and will remember it as one of our most memorably enjoyable holidays.

  • ...after a lovely week in Spain, for which thank you. I enjoyed it all but especially the flowers, the birds, the goats and the people I met. It was a pleasure being with you and I really appreciated being able to meet local people and having a translator on hand...
